This past Saturday, I was Maid of Honor in my best friend's wedding. It was such a beautiful wedding filled with lots of love, laughter, and tons of drinking and dancing.
I have been in a few weddings before and like most of you, I had to wear a bridesmaid gown that the bride picked out. As a bridesmaid, there are certain tasks you have to do, and it is the bride's day so you go along with whatever they want to ensure that their day is truly special. With that being said, the typical bridesmaid gown can be rather boring, and let's face it, we all do not look good in the same style gown. It's nearly impossible to find a dress that accommodates every body type.
For this wedding. the bride let all of the bridesmaids pick out their own dress. It had to be a gown and had to fall with in a certain color pallet, but we had free reign to pick anything we wanted. This new trend, in my book, is absolutely amazing. Not only does it look so gorgeous in pictures, but it allows the girls in your party to feel confident and comfortable. I also love this concept because bridesmaid gowns can be expensive. This permits the girls in your party to pick out a gown in the price point they feel works best for them.
