Holiday Home Decor

December 10, 2019

I started decorating right before Thanksgiving this year since my due date is coming up. I didn't want to feel rushed getting everything done. Christmas is my absolute favorite time of year - it makes me so happy to have the house decorated and holiday music playing. There is just something so magical about the holiday season, and I really love to have it last as long as possible!!

I received a bunch of questions asking where some of the holiday decorations and some of our everyday home decor were from so I'm linking as much as I can below. A lot of the decorations I have collected over the years and then add new things each season. I hope you all have an amazing holiday season!!

We always have a living room tree and Nico has he's own little tree, usually in his room. Nico's tree is decorated with all the ornaments he's made through the years, special ones he has picked out and ones people have bought him. This year, we are in our new home and wanted to get a tall flocked tree, and I wanted to do something super fun! We picked up this 9 ft tree from Target and put it in our dining room. Nico and I went to Michaels and picked out a bunch of cute ornaments and garland to decorate it with. He loved the donut so we used that for the topper.

For our entryway, I lined our banister with faux garland and added silvery glitter sprigs throughout. I also added champagne and blush pink bows along certain parts of the railing. Ribbon and garland from Michaels.

Rug, pillows, end table, TV stand all linked below. In our living Room, we have a real tree. The smell is just amazing, and there is something just so nostalgic about a fresh tree! Stockings are from Home Goods, similar style below.

Style Your Bump

October 29, 2019

It’s amazing how fast this pregnancy is going by. I’m 33 weeks, and I know the rest of the time is going to fly since we are getting into the holiday season.

Feeling and looking good while your pregnant definitely comes with some challenges so  I put together some tips for styling your bump with ease. I think the hardest thing for me when I'm pregnant is that I still want to feel like myself. I didn't want to completely alter my style just because I have a bump. I've learned some tricks along the way that can help throughout your pregnancy journey.

Fall is my absolute favorite for fashion, and although I missing wearing jeans as often as I normally would, I am still occasionally wearing them thanks to the belly band that I purchased on Amazon. When I was pregnant with Nico, I had purchased a different one but it wasn’t as comfortable, and I couldn’t wear anything that was fitted. I purchased this band in the nude color so that I could wear tops that were white with no problem. This band is a game changer for sure.

Fall is also a great time for accessories and layering. Hats are one of my favorite pieces to incorporate to an outfit. It instantly elevates a look and it's perfect for the days where you don't want to do your hair but still feel put together. When your pregnant, there are days when getting dressed can literally feel like a chore so putting together outfits that make you feel and look good are key!

Plan your outfit around a statement piece, like your shoes, jewelry, or jacket. The beauty of this trick is you can take a simple sweater dress and give it a much dressier finish with one standout piece.

Don't be afraid to reach for fitted or body skimming tops or dresses. When you go for bigger clothing it can make things look bulkier. Pair leggings with a boyfriend blazer and loafers or a slip dress with a sweater or cardigan.

You don't have to break the bank on maternity clothing. If you reach a point in your pregnancy where you can't recycle what you already have, invest in a few basic pieces like maternity jeans or pants in neutral colors like black or dark denim. Oversized tops and jackets are right on trend so you can just size up in tops and still wear them afterwards.

Happy styling!

The Bike Short Trend

October 23, 2019

Bike Shorts Aeire  Sweatshirt Aeire  Boots Nordstrom

Just like leggings, bike shorts have become a wardrobe staple. What I like about these stretchy shorts are the versatility you have in styling them. Bike Shorts can be made to look casual and sporty or elegant and chic by pairing them with an over sized blazer and kitten heels or with a hoodie and sneakers. From solid black to faux leather, neon hues to lace trim hems, the 90's vibe has taken on a new look.
