Spring Break Packing List

March 8, 2017

For those of you still in school, Spring Break is right around the corner. For the rest of us, it is the perfect time to plan a trip for a little fun in the sun, after all, it's been a long Winter.

With vaca on the brain, I've put together a packing list of the essentials for your spring break getaway.

Let's face it, when you're heading somewhere warm, you'll most likely be spending most of your time on the beach. I love the low cut front  and floral print on this suit. Beach Riot Aruba One Piece

Pair Of Sunnies

Sunglasses are a staple for Spring Break. I live in them while I'm on vacation and these Quay Australia  in the gold color. Plus, they are perfect for covering up the signs of your late nights.

A Big Floppy Hat

Whenever I'm going to be vacationing somewhere sunny, I always pack a big floppy hat. Having a hat that blocks the rays and protects your skin is a must. A big hat also gives any outfit instant chicness and this one by BP is under $30 .

Perfect Beach Cover Up

A lightweight cover up can be worn a few times on your trip and is super versatile. Throw on this Cool Change By Chloe cover up over your swimsuit, with a pair of jean shorts or it can be worn as a dress.

Flip flops are always necessary for a warm weather vacation and a pair of wedges never hurt! You can wear them with everything from shorts to sundresses, and it's an easy way to take your outfit from day to night. Barneys New York

Crossbody Bag

Cross Body Bags are perfect for traveling. You can wear it on the plane, sightseeing, and nights out. Plus is small enough where it won't be too heavy and fits all the essentials. Cleobella Saddle Bag

Jean Shorts

A lot of the pieces I pack on a Spring Break vaca are easily mixed and matched and can be worn from the beach to out and about. The Lulus denim shorts go perfectly over your swimsuit and can be worn with an off the shoulder top and those wedges you packed for a daytime look.

New York City for the Weekend

New York City for the Weekend 600

This past weekend, I spent Saturday and Sunday in NYC with my brother. If you don't already know, I am so in love with this city. I have my favorite restaurants and shops I like to go to, but I always try and experience something I haven't before. And with a city like New York, you'll never run out of new places and new experiences. I realize it's pretty rare to love all the restaurants you go to when your trying new ones, but this trip I can't find anything wrong with any that I got to visit.

Saturday, we did a little shopping, then we went to a pop up restaurant in Bryant Park, Celsius. This two story glass enclosed bar and restaurant with a view of the skating rink was the perfect mid afternoon stop off. Besides the yummy comfort food and specialty cocktails, you can sit outside on the heated deck in comfy couches and chairs. Despite how freaking cold it was this weekend, it was so warm on the deck that you didn't even need your coat.

Outfit details below

Dinner: Saturday night for dinner my brother and I met up with one of my friends I went to high school with. He told us about another pop up restaurant on the 14th floor of Eataly called Baita. If you haven't been to Eataly before, this is a total must. This roof top, glass enclosed restaurant adorned with fur wrapped polls and skis hanging from the ceiling is designed to look just like a cozy Aspen ski lodge and is open until March.  I had asked the waiter what the best dish was on this rustic Italian menu, and he recommenced the Maiale Alla Birra, which is braised pork shoulder -- and it did not disappoint.

Drinks: We then went for drinks at what might possibly be one of the coolest places I have been to in New York. Raines Law Room is 1920s vibe lounge with a door buzz entrance. Once you are allowed in, you'll notice a windowless, super dim lit atmosphere, private tables with velvet couches and sheer curtains, and buzz assistance for the waitress to know you're ready to order. The drink menu is super unique -- I got the South Side Ricky.

Sunday Brunch: My friend, Matt, hit another home run when he told my brother and I to go to Cookshop. If you can, try to make a reservation because it seems like everyone knows how good the food is.  While you're waiting, pick from one of their 5 Bloody Mary Recipes, I had the Classic. Once my brother and I sat, we started with the Chamomile Tea, Beignets, and the Skillet Pancake. If you have a sweet tooth like I do, omg you have to try these. I then moved on to the Roasted Broccoli and Cheddar Scramble, and my brother had the Oven Baked Sunnyside-up Eggs that he said were some of the best eggs he has had.
