I wore this off the shoulder boho mini over the 4th of July. I love the muted green color and that it has a sexy casual vibe to it. These knd of dresses are what Summer is all about. Easy pieces that you can put on and add some stand out accessories or shoes make getting ready super easy.
Tassel earrings have been a huge trend this season. With bold colors and long fringe to delicate tassles like these, you'll find a pair for every outfit. I found these pom pom lace up sandals at Macy's recently after being on a hunt for months for the perfect pair. I have seen a ton of styles that were super cute but a little too over decorated with charms or to many tassels so when I spotted these, I was so excited!! And can we talk about how cute this mini patent leather bag is?! I am a little obsessed, and feel like I'm channeling my inner 90's child with a total Clueless moment.
This past Saturday afternoon, I took Nico to a little Summer festival. We literally got there, Nico went in a bounce house, took this picture, and then it started downpouring. I wish I took an after picture of what I looked like becuase it was hysterical how quickly I went from looking put together to a hot mess.
I bought these overalls a little while back, and this seemed like a perfect time to have them make an appearance. This pair is sold out, but I linked some other options below. I also snagged these Sam Edelman Sandals from DSW about a week ago and have been wearing them on repeat. They go with everything and are really comfortable because of the shorter block heel, sorry you can't see the heel in this pic.
It was my first time visiting Block Island, and I got to go for 3 fun days filled with festivities. I arrived on Friday afternoon and checked into the Atlantic Inn.The Inn is set high on a hill just outside of town and has so much charm. I was here over the weekend to not only do hair for a wedding but also attend the wedding that Saturday.
After getting off the ferry and checking into the hotel, we headed to Ballardswhich is this awesome beach front bar and restaurant right along the marina. I ate yummy fish tacos and had margaritas before heading back to the hotel to change because the bride and groom had set up a welcome bonfire on the beach. It was so much fun! The Tiki Bar right on the beach, feet in the sand, and band playing in the bar was the perfect kick off to the weekend.
My friend Shaenna (who was the makeup artist for the wedding) and I woke up Saturday morning to get the bride and her bridal party ready, and then I had to quickly get ready myself. The ceremony was held at a church not far from the Inn, and the reception was under a beautiful tent right across the lawn from the Inn. We arrived back from the church greeted with passed champagne and the most delicious hors d'oeuvres and raw bar. The tented bash had farm style tables with flowers lined along the center and a beautiful formal lounge area off the dance floor.
The next morning everyone who attended the wedding woke up to have brunch with the newly married couple. Mimosas, bloody marys, and rosé were always in sight, and the guests enjoyed their breakfast on the front deck and lawn filled Adirondack chairs.
The remaining part of Sunday we took mopeds out to tour the island, ventured to the bluffs and then back to the center where all the shops and restaurants are. Block Island, I'll be seeing you soon!
A big congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Denovellis!! Your wedding weekend was a blast and absolutely beautiful. I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness.
